You sir just made my day.
Its funny how many US citizens don't know they're grand fathers were SS. The only bad thing is that nowadays there is a chance that people actaully think that it is a electric company rather then a army helmet, soon the youth will forget the wars and focus on the digital future were antique things are just a week old.
someway your right, some other way wrong. Human race is waging war since the begin of the human race. however modern war has chanched from bullets in your back and your throat knifed we do all the work with papers and money and digital... thats the enchanchemend... because war... war never chanches....

The SS had nothing to do with war!! It was an evil organisation in the 3rd Reich!
The Waffen SS being a branch of the SS, was the only thing to do with war. And was famous for war crimes (murdering civilians) So sorry Jewoenboy, I think its a big difference between an Army and the SS!
(Besides the German Army in those days was the Wehrmacht)
so please read some history books before posting such ****
only some of the SS acted as the secret police, some divisions were in the military and were considered to be elite divisions...
Sad that they forget that the SS did very bad things. Most just think of the Waffen-SS but, the SS was in charge of murdering millions of people in Concentration Camps (or just strait away). So I really hope that never will be forgotten!

Maybe his grandfather was SS, but it also may be that his grandfather was a US soldier, who killed an SS soldier and kept the helmet as a trophy.
I would of said exactly the same thing if I saw this helmet.
