Reminds me of the one time in Planetside 2. I was playing as vanu and we had to hold one fortress from a MASSIVE Terran assault. I played as a medic and engineer, fixing defense and receiving teammates. After a long and stubborn fighting, the Terran assault broke and the Vanue finally went on the counterattack. After the Magriders started rolling out and I relaxed and looked at the clock... and realized the we have held the fort for six actual hours!
So yeah, no sleep for me that nigh but I will be hard pressed to say it was not worth it.
Whenever I start playing Stellaris I just accept I'll be going to sleep at 3pm the following day when I get absolutely exhausted. It's technically real time but it's as difficult to pull away from as a turn based game such as Civ.
