I couldn't find info about the Photo but I managed to colorize it, I think it was taken in the winter, Soviet troops in Trench and BT tank pass over them.
The big question is...was dat Dirt or Snow ? XD
We may never know...
It doesn't seems snow, the ground looks like dirt. If it isn't soldiers couldn't take cover under the tank, it would probably spilled on soldiers when tank passed on the edge of that trench.
