Post news Report RSS Zone: Weekly Wrap Up #8

After our prolonged absence of Weekly Wrap Ups, we now present to you our 8th Weekly Wrap Up.

Posted by on

Where have we been? Many of you probably have thought we all died, abandoned the project and moved on. In all honestly, that's what it seems like too with the lack of our weekly wrap ups in the past few weeks. Don't worry though, we are all still here and are all focused on working our first, beloved game, Zone: The Battleground. This week, we also have a brand new Weekly Wrap Up for you to dive into. What are you waiting for, keep reading!

Music to my ears

If you have been following us on Twitter, Facebook or have been looking at various gaming blogs around the internet, you may have ran into a few giveaways for a remix track on our album. The track itself is a remix of the title track for the album, Zone, which we have yet to release, and it sounds awesome. So far only a handful of you have heard this track and we are keeping it exclusive for the time being to allow all those gaming blogs a chance to let their readers an exclusive chance to hear it, but in short while, Zone and Zone Remix will be available for you to listen too.

You know, I feel a bit sad that you don't get to hear it. Want a sample?

Yup, that sounded great. There is much more to that track, but for now, keep your eyes peeled to our Twitter, Facebook, or various gaming blogs and communities for code drops for the track. There might even be a code hidden within this wrap up, but what do I know. ;)

SWAG!

Everyone is saying it. Swag this, swag that, but what about Xitol Swag? Well, it is in the works and is looking awesome. We have been working on designs for a handful of items from t-shirts to stickers. These designs are not your standard logo on a t-shirt for $20. We are putting our heart into each design and making t-shirts that will appeal to gamers and non-gamers. We will be selling (and giving away!) some of our swag early next year when they hit the market. Honestly, I think you'll love em.

It's not a concept, it's a reality!

So I'm sure you all have been looking for us to share something in-game and not one of our beautiful pieces of concept art. Well, the time has come, and I present you the AT Assault Rifle (I call it the AT AR because it sounds awesome). I was stunned by how awesome it looks when I saw it, and we are sharing it as the first in-game piece you will see. Look at it below and let us know what you think of it.

Sexy, eh? Click the image for a high-res version!

Brrr, it's cold over here

That title applies to both the house I'm writing this wall of text in-which you are probably only looking at the screenshots (just kidding!) and the first level that has entered the "near completion" phase for Zone: TB. Our genious level designer for this level, Trevor, has done an amazing job the level past few weeks and calls his level "sexy". Of course, he chose the internal code-name for all things awesome, but it sure is true. I'm sure right now you all are wondering where pictures of this level are, and I must say they are sitting on my hard-drive just waiting to be uploaded, but it's just not the right time to do so. I will leave you with this though, you determine what it could be:

Just for a note, I originally had this blurred much more. You can thank Jamie for changing my mind. ;)

Join the team!

A while ago, we announced we are looking for a new member on our Community Team. While applications did "officially" end and I am in the process of contacting each applicant individually, if you think you have what it takes to join the team, please feel free to still apply. It will be a while before we get through every single application we have received and reply to the ones we think will be a good fit, so there is still time.

If you want details on the job, click here and read over the details then apply.

We are also looking for a few other talents to join the team. They include 2D Artists, 3D Modelers and much, much more. If you are interested in checking out our available job listings, click here and go to our jobs page. If you don't see anything that fits you, but you still want to help out, please feel free to email us anyways, we might have a spot available in the near future.

Game Over, insert coin to continue...

This weeks wrap up is coming to a close right here. I teased you not once, but twice at some of Zone: The Battleground's features. What you have seen is only a tease and we have plenty more to come in the near future.

Stay tuned. ;)

-Nick
