Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

Hi, my ingame name is NeoGun, and here is my first map i created!

It's a simple wave map, but with lots of weapons and itens to purchase, and custom floor that i made!

I hope you like it! :D

Custom floor? XD. I had major deja vu when I saw it.

I sprited some tiles that look almost identical a couple of days before, I was scratching my head trying to work out how you had got them :P

I was unfortunately unable to open your map NeoGun. Nice map though, I look forward to your future maps.

Minor things for your next maps:

  • This does occur even though you might have set it as an outside zone - not sure why it occurs, but it... does. Best way to resolve this is to set everything that is a wall to be part of your collision, instead of just the outline.

  • Zombies tend to get trapped in the inserts (if you are in the top area) or the bottom wall of the top-half (if you are in the bottom area). This has a side-effect of slowing down waves and reducing the amount of zombies you go against at one time if you are playing alone or if your entire team stays on one side. This can especially be exploited if players stay in the bottom half - you can carefully narrow down the amount of zombies you face at one time to 1-5 with remaining zombies.

Nice map and nice backdrop overall though - again, I look forward to playing your next map :)

Thank you :P

Ah - quickie lesson - you CAN open .map.[number].bak (assuming you didn't delete them) - all you need to do is change the file type from Map Files to All Files. This will allow you to roll your map back to some previously saved state - extremely important feature to know!
