Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

[Idea]
I thought it would be good if we could classify different guns and other things such as grenades with a class, Primary Weapons and Secondary weapons.

Things like the AK and the Winchester would be primary and the other things such as the Shotgun and Uzi would be secondary.

You should only get the effects from the Primary weapons Gems so that if you have a Turret in the Primary slot you would be limited as to what guns you could wield along side it.

[List of possible class weapons]
-AK47 - Primary
-Assault Rifle -Primary
-Bat -Secondary
-Bolt Gun -Secondary
-Double Barrel -Primary
-Fight Saber - Secondary
-Turret [ANY] -Primary
-Flamethrower -Primary
-Flare Gun -Secondary
-Freeze Ray -Secondary
-Grenade Launcher -Primary
-Laser Cannon -Primary
-Love Cannon -Secondary
-Love Thrower -Primary
-Magnum -Secondary
-Pistol -Secondary
-Rocket Launcher -Primary
-Rocket Chainsaw -Primary
-Scatter Gun -Primary
-Shock Rifle -Primary
-Shotgun -Secondary
-Spaz -Primary
-Sticky Launcher -Primary
-Tripmine -Secondary
-Uzi -Secondary
-Winchester -Primary

[Accessory]
An accessory I thought of could be a Magnet, this can be combined with guns or heads or whatever, the effect would be so that any coins dropped by zombies you kill are pulled towards you. So that you don't have to rush into a horde to get your money.

[Weapon?]
Another item I thought of is a riot shield. This could be a secondary weapon [Or maybe primary to balance it] with the ability to bash with low damage and gives you half an armour bar when equipped.

These seem like some really good ideas, especially the magnet accessory.

I really want this. I don't know about the gems part, but the rest is pretty good.

It's just that a lot of the weapons could be more useful to fit into both primary and secondary, without overpowering. For instance, the Love Cannon, Love Thrower, Bolt Gun, and Shock Rifle ... in other words, the harmless weapons, should not be restricted to being used ONLY in primary or secondary slots ... it certainly wouldn't overpower you.

Maybe it would be better to be able to place secondary weapons in primary slots as well, so that you can only ever have 1 primary weapon or 2 secondary weapons (ex. Uzi + Tripmine).

As for the riot shield, it's a nice concept, but with the fast pace of gameplay (such as a swarm of attacking zombies) where would it fit in?? It certainly would help in the Campaign mode ... to a degree, but I can't see myself seriously facing a large horde of zombies holding just a riot shield that only adds half a bar of armor (even in waves 15-20 with full armor, you can get turned to chowder in seconds, especially by larger zombies). If you make it a full armor bar that maybe recharges slowly over time (fatigue like the bat), and/or add a contact and small AOE shock, then we're talking.
