Hey!

Here's a quick Q n' A of some questions that has popped up lately.

What is "Zero Below The Sun"?

Zero Below The Sun is a survival horror game, inspired by the classic survival horrors of the 90's with a retro aesthetic in full 3D and over-the-shoulder camera view. This means that the game, to an extent, features some 3rd person shooter action. You can also expect some classic puzzle solving, finding clues to uncover more pieces of the story and interacting with some NPCs; friendly and unfriendly. Your main goal is to find out what has happened at the base and to make it out alive.

Is this game based on John Carpenter's movie "The Thing"?

Short answer: No.

There are some small inspirations drawn from this movie, but the game is in no way based on this movie nor does it have any connections or any sort of relation to it.

How long is the demo?

Approx. 20-30 minutes.

How long is the full game?

Expect at least 3 hours for a blind play-through.

Why is the game running in 30 fps?

The game runs at 30 fps (frames per second) by default for retro aesthetic reasons, but you can change this in the in-game settings.

How does the weapons work?

There are several weapons that you will find in the game and each one has different pros and cons. The handgun you will likely find more ammunition for, so it's a good all-rounder. Then there's a SMG which uses burst fire; slightly more powerful than the handgun, but the ammunition is more rare. The Assault rifle is the only weapon which fires full-auto, at a similar damage level as the SMG. The latter also has an optional scope Mod Disk.

Why can I only equip one Mod Disk at a time?

The Mod Disk are a power bonus, which enhances the weapons in certain ways. For the handgun you can find a laser sight mod and a damage amplifier, for instance. As this is a survival horror game, I don't want to make the weapons over-powered - only give them a slight boost, which can be helpful in certain situations.

Are there any achievements?

Yes. At the time of writing there are 19 Steam achievements in the full version of the game. They vary from finding different weapons to performing headshots or by simply not killing anything at all (except for bosses). There will also be hidden unlockables.

That's it for now - be sure to try out the demo on Steam.
Until next time!
