Winged Sakura: Mindy's Arc is a fast-paced anime-themed strategy defense game with RPG mechanics based on telling a story about Mindy and how "it" all began. Players can level up, use skills, equip/craft/upgrade items, and summon Spirits to defend against waves of enemies.

Update on the Pre-Alpha demo, our plans for Kickstarter, merchandises, and our schedule including the estimated release date.

The Pre-Alpha Demo

The demo is taking longer than expected! But we’re currently cleaning up the demo now. We still got to do some private testing before we can release the build, fix crashes, bugs (takes forever to track down), make the UI look more polish, etc. Sorry for the wait! I really hope some of you will try the demo out and provide some feedback before I push the game further to the point of no return.

We got some story characters that were illustrated but not shown yet. If you’ve followed us for the first 30 days during our Kickstarter campaign, then you can probably guess the image above is Princess Nina’s Cherry Blossom (or Sakura). I won’t go into details about her yet.

Kickstarter

Our first Kickstarter didn't go well. We plan to give Kickstarter one more go after we release the demo, but this time around, only requesting funds for sound effects, music, and more CG images. We’ve got enough money to cover the gameplay. But the story still feels a little lacking. I’m really hoping we can get some extra money in to polish the game. The campaign will be requesting a total of $5,000 CAD.

We’ll also set up a pre-order/funding page after the campaign for those who wish to continue helping us make the game more polished.

All eligible backers will get a Steam key if we greenlit.

This time around, we’ll offer some physical merchandise, wall scrolls, artbook, etc. We’ll turn some of our CG images to wall scrolls, check one of them out here.

The Prototype Demo Boss

If you've been following us for a while, somewhere in the late September or early October, then perhaps you remember this guy.

If you've tried out the very old prototype demo, then you may remember that all he did was pretty much walk and teleport. Check out our new design:


You can also unlock him. For demo purposes, you’ll be able to unlock him immediately after you beat him.

For those who plan to provide feedback, you’re going to be in for a surprise when you fight him. He is beatable, but I don’t how many people can beat him or if he’s too hard. We’ll find out and I’ll adjust the settings accordingly. There will be an easy mode though for those who wants to easily beat him. He’s a lot different compare to the video above. He doesn't simply just walk and teleport. =)

Schedule

Estimated Release Date: September 2014.

All features and the story should be done in June 2014, or if lucky, before June. That’s when the game hits beta. We’ll then begin polishing the game, proof-read the story scripts several times, etc.The game is estimated to be completed mid-late September 2014.

The biggest question is, will we get Steam Greenlight before September? I certainly hope so!
