Tap to fly for as long as you can, but don't get knocked out. In Wild Kiwi, you're a kiwi bird who really needs to get a move on. Fly as far as you can and avoid the obstacles, flying rocks and helicopters that are out to get you! Your Wild Kiwi high score is always saved, so you can compare your scores and compete with your friends.
Knowing there is a community behind any game you play can really make it feel more active and engaging. We've been testing and have now released a full high score system and Flight Challenges into the latest versions of Wild Kiwi. Install or update now from the Play Store, or read more details below. :D
Trying to beat your high score in a game can be fun for a while. However, knowing there are other people out there, and being constantly challenged with their high scores too - that really gets you motivated.
Flight challenges really make Wild Kiwi addictive, as they pop-up while you're playing and give you a new challenge for every one you beat. Get the highest score in either normal or extreme mode, and you'll have the luxury of being unchallenged, that is, until someone gets an even higher score.
In the screenshot, you can see my high score is just 2 metres away from Libby's. It was so close, but I got whacked off screen by a chopper.
It's not just the Flight Challenges that have been added. There is also a whole high score and ranking system for every single Wild Kiwi player that takes flight. High scores are automatically submitted, and are viewable on the High Scores screen.
This screenshot here shows the Extreme Mode high scores tables. There are two tables at the moment, one for Normal Mode and one for Extreme Mode. As you can see, I'm just off screen ranked #14 at the moment. Some of the players here are serious competition!
The main start screen has also been tidied up a bit. There's a 'High Scores?' link at the top, letting you can quick access to the high scores tables, to let you check on the competition before you even start playing. The game also cleverly recommend Extreme Mode if it thinks you're finding Normal Mode a little too easy.
I really hope you enjoy all the competitive high scoring and addictive Fleet Challenge features. It was fun to code (server programming!) and I think it adds a more 'active community' kind of feel to the whole game. Also, of course, get your friends involved! It'll add even more challenge! :D
Enjoy the update!
You can now share your Wild Kiwi scores with your friends via Twitter!
Quite a bit of initial feedback suggested the game was very easy. I want to keep the game fun for casual players, but appease others. Introducing 'Extreme...
