Description

There are a lot of rookie pilots out there in our Battle Weary World you know, private, military, civilian, every type from every slice of life. The combat pilots especially keep trying to find ways to edge themselves whenever there isn't a war going on, without selling themselves out to mercenary services. With that, we have several combat flight schools and Red Flag operations dotted throughout the world at annual intervals. Some are open to all people, some only to a certain percentile of pilots or nations specifically.

Sure, you learn a lot in them, but a great deal of it can also be learned out in the field... It's sorta like college now that I think about it...

Anyway, with the rise of these type of schools came the rise of a certain niche of training aircraft and aggressor aircraft meant to imitate certain enemy hardware while still being easily maintainable by a nation's airforce in parts and upkeep.

For training aircraft you have such types like the F-15D and B variants as prominent examples, whom often take to the skies during flight school against abominations like the MiG-28, flown by either a.) pilots who have combat experience against certain air forces which the schools want to emulate, or b.) defectors or ex-pilots from different air forces.

Most of these training flights and operations aren't the sort to be live fire or at all dangerous to even the greenest pilots, but still, once and a while a negligent mechanic accidentally arms actual warheads onto a plane and a goodwill flight from Tolstoj gets shot down in Aestern.

Because of incidents like that, some of the more well funded nations have researched virtual reality training, causing surplus training aircraft to flood the markets to be picked up by mercenaries and PMCs, causing me to always take a second glance when I see a MiG designation put on a radar signature trying to run the Blockade that VERY CLEARLY IS AN F-5.- ███████ "FlyAway" ██████
