If ground-effect plane counts/Ekranoplan as any, I'd vote for Caspian Sea Monster...

And then there's aircraft carriers. CARRIERS CARRIERS CARRIERS.

if you know what I mean.

I think the En.wikipedia.org could count as a navalcraft and would be good for some form of boss.
According to Times there could be a proposed naval megastructure called EOS-XX Leviathan in the works.

Russian Navy:
Admiral Kuznetsov-Class Carrier
Kirov-Class Battlecruiser
Slava-class Cruiser
Udaloy-class Destroyer
Sovremenny-class Destroyer
Typhoon class submarine
Akula class submarine
Krivak-class Frigate

US Navy:
Ticonderoga (CG-52 onwards)-Class Crusier
Nimitz-Class Carrier

Ohio-Class Submarine
Los-Angeles/Virginia/Seawolf-Class Submarine (Any 1 of the 3)
Essex-Class Landing Helicopter Dock (For Amphibious assault missions obviously)

Other Navies:
Charles de Gaulle-Class Carrier
Invincible-class Carrier
Queen Elizabeth-Class Carrier
Type-45 'Daring' Class Destroyer

Type 23 'Duke' Class Frigate
Formidable-Class Frigate

Adelaide class frigate (
Oliver Hazard Perry-class with VLS Launcher)

The different types of carriers could allow players to face additional planes ranging from 30-60 planes if AI carriers can launch planes autonomously, carriers and cruisers can also act as a sea-based AWACS for planes, boosting their radar. The Carriers could even probably launch naval-based AWACS planes, such as the E-2C Hawkeye

The different escort ships could launch helicopters and shoot down sea-skimming missiles or cruise missiles launched by enemy ships or planes and shoot down ballistic missiles if they are BMD capable, such as the Arleigh Burke-class or the Ticonderoga class

The Submarines could launch Ballistic missiles in some kind of boss battle or submarines such as the Ohio SSGN and the Los-Angeles class could just launch regular cruise missiles or torpedoes at enemy ships. A burst cruise missile similar to the Scrmifaxi from AC5 would be pretty cool too

DARPA's ACTUV with a bevy of submarines for it to chase?

The Lockheed Martin CHARC concept?
_____________

Slava Class Cruisers? They have one mean anti-ship loadout.

Armidale Class patrol boats? Lightly armed, but interesting to have a different looking patrol boat.

Admiral Kuznetsov class aircraft carrying cruisers. Why? An aircraft carrier with a battery of anti-shipping missiles integrated into its flight deck, that's why!

Bumping this thread out of obscurity….

Suggestions of naval crafts are highly appreciated because there isn’t any definitive list this kind of units.

More Attack crafts and patrol boats are also appreciated.

Well to add to the list of patrol craft, here's the Pegasus class, designed as a foil to the Osa class boats.

And Skjold class patrol boats, as a hybrid catamaran/hovercraft is just too delicious to pass up.

I'd like to see it as a playable vehicle, since it could probably control like an airplane.

It is an airplane, it just operates off of the ground effect. Basically, imagine flying something with an altitude ceiling of, I think, about 20-30m.

HSV-2 Swift is a non-commissioned, hybrid catamaran originally leased by the United States Navy as a mine countermeasures and sea basing test platform. She is now privately owned and operated by Sealift Inc. and chartered to the United States Navy Military Sealift Command. She is primarily used for fleet support and humanitarian partnership missions. The HSV stands for "High Speed Vessel", and its home port is Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek in Norfolk, Virginia. The vessel has two CONMAR crews that typically rotate every three months to keep the ship deployed eleven months per year. The minimum crew size is 35; 18 are military with the balance civilian, provided through American Maritime Officers and Seafarers International Union. On rare occasion that she is in a United States port, it is usually Naval Station Mayport, Florida, supporting the Fourth Fleet or Charleston, South Carolina, for major maintenance. Rota, Spain, is considered by the crew to be the "Mediterranean home away from home".

Plus from what I heard when it's ready it'll be refitted with a naval railgun that has been on development ever since.

As the current ship list goes in my build TS, I'll just say you need a battleship in there, or really just a really, really big cruiser with absolutely nutty AA coverage. Maybe one of Russia's missile cruisers or the Missouri.

Sail-less Soviet Sub Design

Reddit wrote: The Project 673 SSN was designed in 1960 as a small (~1,500 tons surfaced) and fast (35-40 knots) SSN. To maximize speed, the sail was removed and the reactor could produce 40,000 SHP. Because of the lack of a sail, this submarine would have been the most maneuverable submarine ever. Even the quickest turning American SSNs had to deal with snap roll that resulted from sharp turns because of the large waterplane area of the sail. This means that submarines with large, upright sails (like American submarines) can only turn at a certain rate before they abruptly roll (as much as 45 degrees) and dive. Soviet SSNs have this to a much less degree because their sails are low and blended into the hull, but Project 673 would have no problems with stability at all.

That reminds me, the EOS Leviathan is not yet in the game and I have another large sea vessel in the making.
But actually none of them are carriers, one is a "stealth" ship and other colossal battle cruiser.
But adding a large carrier wouldn´t be a bad idea.

Any crazy/cool idea for a large carrier?

DOUBLE DECKER CARRIER TRIMARAN PLS

Feb 27 2014 Anchor

As silly as they sound, the NationState double carrier deck aircraft carriers would be fun to shoot at. Even the ones with the deck guns.

Even the pycrete carrier that was mentioned earlier is viable.

I actually believe those ones are taken from the USS Asuka carrier from marcoss Zero.

AS for suggestions, dare I say we hold a competition for it?

In fact, the iceberg's staff asked me to do another contest, but I told them that people probably may not be interested since the other was not so long ago.

But if there interest in this contest then is alright for me. This time the prize could also be a physical item, like a T-shirt or a scale model of the winner design?

lol, seems like it'd be interesting to see happen, though I might not participate since I've far less idea about how a ship is built as opposed to a fighter.

Periodic contests could definitely be a boon to the community, especially for keeping interest up once the game has been released. Something smaller in between the larger campaign DLCs or something to fill a unit role for future content DLCs themselves, except with narrower criteria (ex: need 1990s mobile, amphibious superweapon capable of firing nuclear weapons and operating on difficult terrain = Metal Gear Design Contest).
