The Hellas Greece Map is an Open Source Project provided to the community to assist modders in creation of mods set around the classical age of greece.
The mod is intended to run on Rome Remastered 2.0.4 and is only intended to be used as a base resource for modders and is not in a playable state for general use.
-The mod contains the necessary files found inside the world folder, the terrain data and assoicated textures and the data text files for implemenation of the campaign and use of the religious beliefs system for the mod.
-The map contains 254(at last count) regions.
-the map size is 468x383
-religion is implemented by default for convience. It is much easier to remove the religion entries in the descr_regions.txt file than it is to add them in. Each region starts off with pagan 100 so you can use a text editor's find and replace tool to implement religions how you see fit.

Known Issues:
-Upon zooming out into overlay mod there is a slight freeze also a large freeze when calculating the security overlay.
-Mipmaps are not implemented in the textures for the terrain (may change in the future)
-Outside of the map is an ugly pink texture.
Permissions:
Anyone has permission to use, modify and distribute both unmodified and modified versions of the map whether standalone or as part of a larger mod project. Credit is not required but always appreciated. The original creator Emperor of the Great Unknown is not responsible for any problems or issues that arise as the result of modifications done by other creators.
Historicity Notes:
This mod is designed for a time period between 500 BCE to 336 BCE. All greek cities have been researched and are confirmed to exist within this time period. Some later greek cities such as Megalopolis, Thessalonica, Philadelphia, Laokedia, etc are not included as their founding is during the later Hellenistic time frame. Modders creating a post-Alexander map will need to take that into account. Region names are not provided as research on names independent from the cities for 254 settlements is arduous and near impossible.
Many Thracian and Illyrian settlements are made up and named after tribes. The location and identity of these tribes are difficult to ascertain during this time period so much guesswork and gameplay concessions were made when sculpting this part of the world.
Many cities have moved slightly from geographical locations to enhance the performance of AI and pathfinding on the map. This includes many coastal cities and cities located directly on rivers that were moved slightly away from the coast or river to prevent AI armies bottlenecking around these towns.
Modders Notes:
-The Hellespont is traversable and some Cyclidian Islands are also traversable between each other.
-Some stray region pixels for island regions in the map_region.tga has been added to get around the 20 limit landmass crash of RTW. I have no idea if the crash exists in the Remaster but out of caution, the map was designed with that put into account.
-The map can be converted back to RTW if you stay under the region limit of 199.
