The player controls a team of robots who are tasked with clearing spaceships and space stations of various aliens that have taken up residence. Each of the nine alien types has distinctive behavior, some of which interact with each other. The challenge is to use the combined abilities of each robot to complete each level, which get ever more fiendish, and to unlock the better gear and upgrades. The games genre is an isometric shoot-em-up with tactical elements. We love feedback, so please post a comment if you have any to give.
I watched a friend play THEMANDUS for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It proved to be most enlightening and forced a rethink on content of the release I was working on.
The result is this new release, which seeks to make it much easier to get into the game by removing clutter in the launcher, and giving clearer guidance during the early stages of the game. It also removes a couple of the clunkier game play elements.
There are also new item detail screens to the shop and mission screens, putting information where it is needed rather than on help pages, which as we all know, are only ever read by the person that coded them.
If you already have the game, select update on the launcher (which will include the new launcher). If not, grab it here.
Also, check out the new game play video below which shows this version in action.
The game play and looks have both been given some polish in this latest release of THEMANDUS.
This major upgrade to THEMANDUS sees the introduction of dynamic lighting for a much more atmospheric game experience.
The latest version of the THEMANDUS open beta has been released. This version includes suicide spiderbots.
