The awesome CD Projekt RED team have released an early version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt modkit.

Whilst not as indepth as the The Witcher 2: RedKit at this time you still can modify large chunks of the game to your liking, here is what they have to say.

the Modkit enables Witcher community to modify several aspects of the game to their own liking. Thanks to texture import and export, gamers can now modify the looks and feel of in-game objects, while the possibility of substituting meshes allows to insert new models in the game world in place of existing ones. Finally, access to script files opens up an entirely new array or modification options to many in-game aspects, so modders can fire up their imagination and fiddle with item statistics and much more.

You can grab the current version of the modkit below, the file will remain updated with further revisions and updates to the modkit once released.

To help you get started, Gopher shows how to get things all setup in his new video:

  • Change ingame models or replace the meshes with your own creations.
  • Modify or create new scripts, change key gameplay elements or craft your own.

As always we encourage all modders to use our permanent file hosting resource for distributing and promoting your hard work, Add your mod today or submit your addon for others to enjoy.

Awesome that CD Project RED supports modders and I really hope that CD Project RED can cultivate a modding community similar to the modding communities we see for Bethesda's games.

awesome. hopefully someone makes a mod that fixes the broken and clunky fighting system. and make the last skill tree passive. you know the tree that has extra HP and such.

No worldspace editor at the moment, its an early version so expect more features to come with time.

Don't expect the actual redkit to come out until the 2nd expansion hits, since the original W2 Redkit didn't come until 2 years after the release. Even then it had very little popularity so they'll probably take their time on releasing it. If at all.

I think they would want to hurry with releasing it so that it comes out while everyone is still excited about the game and actively playing it.
