Once a small group of mages gathered in a village deep in a forrest to study the art of summoning and conjuration. Hungering for more power they performed a ritual that summoned a shadow from another dimension that looked like nothing more than black smoke. It promised them more power and eternal life for its freedom. The price for this was to sacrifice the souls of the newborn children in the village. Four of the five mages accepted, but the one named Tuldran declined and left them. The other mages created a ritual which would allow them to live on forever if they would plant their souls in the body of the newborn children. After a few years Tuldrans wife died giving birth to a child, a boy. Fearing that his son would lose his soul, Tuldran hid him in his cellar and sealed it with powerful protection spells, so nobody could find his son. He told the townsfolk that his son died with his mother. Seventeen years later Tuldrans son had become quiet a decent mage due to his affinity to magic. After casting a powerful spell though, the shadow sensed his presence and attacked the village toghether with the four mages that he made his most trusted servants...
