Fully in support of curbing any potential Cockrisers. Good foresight. :)

looks awesome great updates lately! only one thing the thing you said with the numidian who can't have blue eyes and blond hair. there are villages in turkey, morroco, egypt, etc. where they have blond hair and there are black people with blue eyes so it is possible.

@Chandos.
Down with the Cockrisers!

@LOTR
True, but they are rare, at best. If we have it as a common option, it could mean that its totally open to people to make a blue-eyed african and a brown-eyed ...blue-eyed people.

We might be able to recreate that rare chance however by randomly opening the rare genetic strain opportunity during character creation at a 1/X chance, or some such.

@Sniper
Hey, I just make it somewhat pretty. Lightning makes it all work, who, by the way, is also making excellent progress. I believe he plans to update his Progress Thread over at our announcements section on the forum in the next few days.

Description

Well, that's Character Creation done somewhat, for now. I've drawn up the Account Creation and Character Creation graphics, with the Character History graphics on hold till I've finished the script for that section. I've also looked up some historical typical roman names - currently, there are over 15,000,000 possible name combinations in Project Terra. \o/

Gender + Origin will need to be filled before the other options are accessed, because these limit some appearance and name conventions. (ie, a Numidian would not be blonde with blue eyes and pale skin, nor would it be named Titus Craxus).

The names are chosen through a selection, as opposed to filling in your own. This avoids complexities such as if a player named himself Dickbutt Cockriser and had children, if those children went on to successfully continue the lineage, we could wind up with a senator called Gaius Cockriser.

However, in the account creation screen you are able to put in a Username. This will be shown next to/instead of the character's name in some places, to discern players from NPCs more easily.

The last section at the bottom is to "Try on" the name. It gives the Respected, Formal and informal name that you would go by.
If you had chosen a name such as Lucius Atronius Nicasius, your Respected name would be the full name, the Formal name would be Lucius Atronius, whilst the Informal name would be Lucius. Nice and simple.

Finally, you have a little indicator as to how many other players are running around with the name you've chosen. This can help you create a more unique name and to possibly dissuade some players from going with highly popular names (Gaius Julius Caesar, for example).
