Devlog #6 — Progress!

Hi everyone, hope you are doing great! In today's devlog we are going to show you some progress we were able to make throughout this new week, although, for the most part we don't have something visual to show you, since we mainly were occupied with testing and correcting some mistakes that could have been made prior to this devlog!

Artwise...

When it comes to the art part, this last week he started working on the character development, although he is finishing some touch-ups in the environment. And this week he was able to provide us with some thumbnails for how the character would look like, so that, on this week he would work on their sketches and add some details, so we can see it further or imagine it — Figure 1, Figure 2 —.

Regarding Programming...

This last week our programmer was deep working into the new mechanic we want to implement, which is the exposure setting on the camera, as shown in the last update, which will add some difficulty to the puzzle, and this week she worked with the game designer to provide some tests to see if the mechanic is working correctly and if it could be changed or not, but soon enough we will have an update with the new mechanic working in a gif, so you can see what it will look like and what it is already looking like!

We can show you what we had already done, as before, it's similar to the GIF we presented to you last week, but, to be able to see what our audience would prefer, we tried making, instead of a slider, another rotating lens, so it would be closer to the Focus mechanic — Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5 —. However, we are leaning towards the slider one.

Game Design…

As for game design, as said before, and mentioned on the last update, I started working on the forms, so this week, I was able to start the testing for the new mechanic and soon enough the graphic style tests too! This week is mainly focused around the tests for the mechanic, which I'm conducting with the game programmer, and to re-iterate whatever is missing on the mechanic to better please our target audience! Next week, I will continue working on the tests, but this time for the art and work on the game flow, to work on the difficulties of the game!

Thank you!

For this week, that's all we have! For this next few weeks, we will have more pictures coming from the artist then from the game design or programming parts, but hopefully it shows how the game is looking! Hope you guys are as excited as we are, and next week we will bring you more things! Have a great week! :D
