Patch for Windows 7 Once you have installed SMG, you must install the smgpatch3_Update patch to your SMG game in order for it to play on Windows 7. If you don't, when you go to launch the game, you will either get an error message, or the game will crash to desk top. The game will NOT launch using the Lee.exe initially installed with the game. Another quirk about SMG for Windows 7 users is, you cannot save games using the smgpatch3 patch, BUT you can play continuous scenario such as the "3 Days of Gettysburg. If you use the XP Compatibility patch, you cannot play the "3 Days of Gettysburg", BUT you can now save your games. As a result, a new patch was created that will allow the game player to easily switch between the two patches as needed. This new patch is called the Patch3_XPCompatibility_Combined.
