Description
Retroninjacyberassassin is a fast-paced 80s and early 90s styled, retro-inspired, beat 'em up that puts you in the shoes of Legion of Order unit 6617 as he goes rogue and attempts to stop Cybersoul Corp from acquiring the final remaining independent media outlet in the world.
History
Retroninjacyberassassin was created circa 2008 by James Hagen and Stefan "An00bus" Klein, with the concept of being a side-scrolling hack n' slash/beat 'em up with an aesthetic similar to the at-the-time popular stick figure flash games. The project at the time never progressed beyond a walking and shuriken throwing stick figure on a green background in XNA Game Studio.
In August 2019, inspired by several Doom total conversion mods, in particular SRB2Kart with its complete change of genre, and the realization of his own hypocrisy when it came to developers abandoning their projects, An00bus decided to remake the then untitled stick figure ninja game. Initial development began as a monster and weapon skin pack, and after another brief hiatus the game began development as the project it is today!
