Hi

Bought this yesterday installed but fsr its REALLY slow I have a i5 with 4gb and gt420m so it *shouldn't* be a hardware limitation?

Hi Rik, could I ask a few questions?
1. What resolution are you running?
2. Does it get better with smaller resolutions or in windowed/fullscreen?

You are running this on a laptop? (judging by the GT420m card). We are in the process of adding in some graphics options, hopefully these will help you. At the moment it seems like your RAM is alittle on the low side, but this might be something you cannot change in a laptop.

Best bet is to lower the Resolution for now and let us know how it plays? Even if it is unplayable still. We will be including some more levels soon, so these would be good for you to test as well to see if they are any better.

Cheers

Hi I cant check right now but my lapy only has max res of 1366x768 so I doubt that should have been a crippling factor and it seemed to want to run in a window regardless and no I do know changing the resolution/ fs did not help. I was running it on a laptop at the time, 4gb is low? yeah i can add up to 16gb ram but havent met anything yet that it was that limiting for so i'm surprised but my desktop has 8gb so if that was the issue to it being unplayable will just run on that but previously could run everything modern (bf3 time) on that with 4gb. Lappy runs bf3 fine. will test update i am dl'ing and let u know how that works on both.

just tried updated version on laptop. Exactly the same even on lowest res possible with aa turned off.
Hope this helps troubleshoot. happy to provide any additional info. All drivers up do date also fyi.

Hey, DOes this still occur in new version if you lower the settings?

Testing latest Alpha Demo Build.

Running an HP DV4 Laptop
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- 2.0ghz Dual Core
- 4gb Ram
- 9200m GS Nvidia (shared 512mb) with latest Drivers (306)

Running fullscreen, 1280x800 with every graphics option / effect turned off. (looks like crap)

Game is completely unplayable. Too slow. Audio and Graphics stop and start.

I know it's not a gaming laptop - but I can play Civilization 5 on low settings (1280x800) res on this laptop - so I was hoping that Recruits would be a little more optimized - anyway, maybe the specs will help?

Andy you have indeed not a gaming laptop, especially your GPU...
This game is simple but still uses a pretty modern game engine which requires a bit horsepower.

Andy, Are you capable of running Any modern Unreal Engine Game? (Based off the specs you gave, although the game certainly has a lot of optimization to perform, you should still be able to play it on low settings, so I fear it may be an issue with the engine itself.)

v35 I can't even get the game to start.

ATI HD4200 onboard @512mb
Windows 8

Were you able to play in older versions?

Slow and jerky. I was checking to see if the new build was any better. I swapped computers since I first installed the game and this one is not as good but I can play some 3D games without problems.
I found a copy of Cannon Fodder but it looks like I need dosbox to run it.

Good news, I tried 4 with the same box. Window mode, all video options off, game was smooth and normal.

What was the command for console again?

Any word on in game key mapping?
