After playing the Alpha I can say its turning out great so far and I'm glad I decided to support it. I love top down shooters like this and I'm glad you chose the mature bloody route and impactful explosion sounds with destruction physics. I could mention things that I feel need improvements but its Alpha and I'm sure you're already improving them! =) As far as playability in the Alpha, I'm having low performance FPS on the Mission 1 map, and even with my older GTX 285 I shouldn't have any problems. Is this a optimization issue in Alpha? |

Hello! |

Hey there! The slowdown begins right when the level starts and is continuous throughout the level. It feels this way on the survival map but not as much. I get like 30+ FPS on the Survival map, while like 20+ FPS on the Mission 1 map when nothing is even happening. Specs: E8400 Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz Edited by: outlawdesura |

Ok thanks for the info, i'm looking into these slow downs for you. Hopefully you are still able to enjoy the game somewhat |

Thanks! I tried it again today with mouse lag/low fps but still managed to beat the first mission. Having same issues in Mission 2 as well. Performance issues aside, I'm also noticing that some Sounds are higher than others? I have to turn the sound all the way down because its loud in general, but then gun sounds are low, foot steps are a bit louder, explosions and the "target spotted" voices are alot louder. Not a big deal I'm sure you guys are making great progress! |

Installed the new build! Love all the graphics options it allowed me to pinpoint what is causing the slowdown. After some tweaking of the settings I've pinpointed it to "Dynamic Lights". I have everything maxed out and turned on but "Dynamic Lights" is the one that causes the big slowdown for me. And its a shame because without it the game looks darker. |

Ahh yep. The Dynamic light is the Main Sunlight in the scene, It casts all the shadows for the characters and the trees etc etc. |

Mission 1 at the beginning with nothing happening I get: Dynamic Lights Off = 55 FPS with no mouse lag I understand my machine is fairly old, but with my specs I've been able to play any new game that comes out comfortably. Just beat Dishonored and that game was even built on Unreal Engine 3. XCOM Enemy Unknown also plays very well. Edited by: outlawdesura |

Ok no problems, i'll keep looking into it, there might be some things We can do. If you get a chance. Could you try turning OFF Dynamic Shadows? But leaving Dynamic Lights ON |
||
Oct 21 2012 Anchor | ||
With Dynamic Lights On and Dynamic Shadows Off, I get 27-29 FPS on Mission 1 with nothing happening. And with that FPS I also get bad mouse lag. Edited by: outlawdesura |

Ok, Seems weird to get 30 FPS and get mouse lag. Umm Have you tried Windowed mode? with lower Res to fix lag? Try These Setting at the same Time: (for Best Performance With decent Visuals) Ambient Occulsion OFF How does it run with these setting in and out of Window Mode? Also maybe check your Nvidia Setting, I have had a player tell me about performance issues only to find that his Nvidia Control Panel was running the game in Software mode by default.

With these settings you listed above: 1680x1050 with Fullscreen On or Off = 28 FPS with mouse lag |

I was looking at this Thread. Which might mean its a slight limitation to UDK Try Vsync On and off to see if one or the other fixes the lag. In the mean time, the game is totally playable with Dynamic lights off (it will look alittle dark on the Daytime levels but at least you can play for now) |

Hey no problem! I appreciate the help. Not everything can be a simple fix I understand that, keep up the great work! =) |
