I get "Shadows: False" upon Hardware check on openSUSE 12.3 with an Intel HD 4000. While this error message is not very helpful you still get my thumbs up on Greenlight. Light and Shadow as a prper gameplay element is an awesome idea.
It's a shame, your videocard should be able to have shadows and everything... maybe is something related to the video drivers in openSUSE?
I am using the standard Mesa3D on a very recent version. Paste.opensuse.org (note: this is a graphics.log created by OpenRA with an error triggered on purpose to get this report). I assume some bogus auto detection on your side.
