I'd like to see the quiver put to use honestly, it's just been sitting there in the items.png file :p
Actually i think there will be quivers, because the quiver image was without arrows in alpha, so it has been changed

Those are the images you see in inventory armor slots when you don't have any armor equipped.

i think you need to have quivers in order to have more arrows now...or the picture changes from one arrow to a quiver when arrows stack...or something completely different :)...also whats with all the missing items?
a quiver has always been in the file nothing new
There are also two types of fishing rods...
the second is just for when you have it cast out instead of a stick as it was in the past

Now i'm not really focusing on the new items for this update,my guess is that 1.9 will probably offer more new blocks but this is already allot!

Flaming aside, this game needs more blocks and items. Especially more blocks. I prefer more ores, maybe some found only in the Nether.

Stuck with the uber-fragile wooden one.
Who knows, but the minecart may actually be the new boat. (I heard there was one that may work in lava?)
I'd imagine that the only reason such a feature is being delayed is that Notch would have to program boats so that you would exit it and warp to the nearest land; because if you were over lava, it would be very difficult to get out.
Anyway, whats the point of the image, we already knew what new things would be implemented? Are you just filling up the news page? :P

How, if only he put the quiver on the skeletons and made it so some skeletons have bows and others have swords. And the ones that have bows have a 25% chance of having a quiver, which could give them some kind of upgrade. I'm a fan of there being more then one skin of a monster.
i see you need a quiver now.
the quiver has been there since alpha and it hasnt changed in any way. i doubt theres still any use for it. new things i see is watermelon and pumpkin seeds (i think) watermelon slice, new animation for bow, new icons for porkchop and steak s well as chicken. as for the "black armor" its nothing new, its the icon which is displayed in inventory on your armor slots.
Next, they need bananas and banana trees! AND THEN BANANA PHONES.
