KartKraft (formely known as KartSim during its successful Steam Greenlight campaign) has announced in an official blog post that it is coming to Steam Early Access this quarter. This comes off the back of a successful GamesCom showing last year, according to the team:

"After rushing back to Australia from our incredible reception at Gamescom 2015, we’ve been deep in the trenches preparing for KartKraft’s Early Access release. Twelve months since we launched the studio to rebuild KartKraft from the ground up, we can finally show what the Black Delta team has been working on."

Developer Black Delta's CEO, Zach Griffin, is himself a former kart racer, so the game's realistic simulation approach should bear some authenticity. The game boasts realistic kart physics, including "3.5Gs of cornering forces thrust upon you every 3 seconds," and "3x the cornering forces of a road car."

That should be something to experience with the sim's confirmed support for the Oculus Rift headset, though for full immersion the game also supports a Logitech G27 racing wheel. We'll have more on KartKraft after it's Early Access release this quarter.
