No, they should remove all details, such as dirt, trash etc., and use decals and overlays on it to break up the repetitiveness.

Yeah, that rock/dry earth texture doesn't look quite natural... Maybe try adding a few more piles of sand on it.

I think that when viewing it from the players view which is closer to the ground, you wont be able to notice the tiling as much.
