The final version (1.0) of the combat prototype has finally been released. The combat prototype is not an "alpha" of the game, but a completely independent game used to test the engine and some systems like networking, physics, controls, etc.. and to keep players busy for a little while.
The combat prototype is publically available and can be downloaded on this page. Special thanks to all the other developers and contributors without whom this combat prototype would have never come to life.
The combat prototype is now considered done and will not be expanded (except for minor bug fixing). The next step is now to finish the Infinity engine (I-Novae) by implementing vegetation, cities, volumetric clouds, and of course to develop the gameplay.
You can find more information about the Infinity Combat Prototype on its dedicated webpage.
A trailer contest has been organized on the Infinity forums last week, and the winner is Kaboom22. Also worth of mentionning is Mcclane who didn't make first, but well deserved his second place. The winning trailer can be found on the download page of the Infinity moddb profile.

The first time it doesn't matter what username and pass you use, just remember to use the same one next time ;)
OMG awesome! Nice work!

The best thing is to post your bugs in this topic on the infinity forum:

I have the same problem as Sinking. I'll try the troubleshoot the problem, just letting you know that it's not isolated to the one person (and that you're not alone, sinking :))
Wow guys you move fast. I remember when I tried to become your writer back when you were advertising the mod on the Planet Battlefield forums, and you guys have improved so fast. I am very impressed with this display of the engine and the gameplay and will be one of the first to purchase this when it comes out. I hope you find a publisher, because this baby is set to rock!
I remember Sinking was playing the proto last time I was playing it.
Did you instal the latest drivers? Do you have an old computer?
Try this: Fl-tw.com
The Infinity community has been testing it for weeks (starting with 0.4 version), so the big probs/bugs should be fixed now.
OMG that is freakin' sweet!
Betelgeuze: Installing the OpenAL drivers fixed the problem. Never had that problem before though. Still, fixed it right up, and I got to playing. Love the game so far, can't wait for release ;)
Blimey
HOLY**** that looks nice ... im gonna d.l. it.... Damn .
Hi, very happy to see a combat demo out so soon, but unfortunately it crashes with me. I checked the firewall the port is free, but Infinity crashes when I try to load. I only get to see the loadup screen where it says "not even an alpha" and then I get thrown back to desktop. I once got a message about something missing, but I didn't take the time to copy it, since I wanted to get started with the demo.
I hope you find out what the problem is. Anyway, gonna wait for full release even if it takes a year or two. Looking gr8!

btw a second window opens when I try to start. It's called exception detected, so I guess that's the errror report. I use amd 3ghz, nvidia6800. Hope its only got something to do with my driver. Gonna update them all.
