The Great Permutator is updated to version 1.1. Now with Level Editor!
The port of Great Permutator for Mac is finished. See below for more information about it and the future work.
The first verstion of port of the Demo for Linux. Please test it! For launch you need OpenGL and OpenAL.
It is pre-release demo. Levels are same, changes are technical only again. Many bugs are fixed, user interface is polished. I feel it is perfect now.
New demo of the game. It has same 15 levels that previous demo has. There are only technical changes. I fixed many bugs and polished many other things...
Demo has only 15 first levels of the full version. System requirements: Windows (only XP and 7 are tested), DirectX9c, MSVC++2008 Redist, any videocard...

I can't get the demo to run. I'd prefer to be able to try the demo before buying the full game, but I've tried it with both the stand-alone version and the Desura version, and the process just... sits there, in the Task Manager, idling. If I'm running the Desura version, then Desura also locks up and refuses to accept any commands, including trying to shut it down through Task Manager. I have to restart my entire computer before I can interact with Desura again.
The files seemed to be downloaded fine, I've tried verifying the files and that was fine, there's no error messages I can find anywhere, and nothing else I can think of is working. Help?
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, btw.
Hmm... Can you write me info from log file? You can find it as Log.log here:
C:\Users\ $USERNAME$ \AppData\Roaming\great-permutator
Also maybe you have not installed DirectX9c or MSVC++2008 Redist.
There's no log file that I can find - anywhere. I've looked in the Roaming folder but there's no folder called great-permutator in there (I also checked to see if it was hidden, before you ask), so whatevers causing the problem, it's happening before a log file can even be created.
As for those two items, I've got DirectX11 and MSVC++2008 installed. So... yeah. They're not the problem, I don't think.
The "great-permutator" folder sould not be hidden.
It's very interesting that it wasn't created here.
Hmm... can you write to my e-mail ripatti [cat] inbox [dot] ru?
Maybe I'll need one or two runs of a bit modied exe on your computer.
well done hope to see new things from you guys
I get an error saying something like "this program could not run, because OpenAl32.dll was not found".
What do I do?
You need to install OpenAL onto your computer. Looks like the official website is down. So, I have uploaded OpenAL redist specially for you:
Ripattisoftware.com
Also for me it is good precedent to include all redists into standalone version of the game in the next update...
It worked!
Thanks! I'll try!
Attention!
Version 1.1 have bug with rights access in add-ons support.
The bug is decrypting level pack files inside "Program Files" folder instead of save files folder. It violates system rights and your OS may kill the game. If you have crash after installation of IGS level pack, you can run gp.exe as administrator (or grant these rights and then launch from Desura client).
The bug will be fixed in the next update.
