At the suggestion of hawka (whom I thank) to make the battles more engaging, it was decided to switch from Domination mode to Battle Zone mode.
This has led to a reorganization of the NORESUS System and for now 45 maps of the 130 available maps are involved: NORESUS selects them automatically. Within 2/3 days I will also make the remaining maps.
For each battle 3 Bases are randomly selected out of 9 possible locations.
The score to reach is only 300 points (100 for each base). Victory is awarded by NORESUS only if all bases have been conquered within 300 points (even if GoH awards you victory for points!).
Now both AI factions have Battalions of 16 units, compared to your 8 units.
At the request of a player NATO identifications have been added: open the file nato_icons.txt and change 0 to 1 to activate them.
Project NORESUS, which began as an PvP ONLINE SKIRMISH Project, has been converted into a PvE LOCAL SKIRMISH version.

In this first version 1.0 you will only play with the 2 basic functions: Movement and Attack.
In later versions, if there is Community participation, I will add many more features that are already in testing. Likewise, you too will have the option to ask for the features you want to add in later versions.
Download, Install and Subscribe
In order to play you need to download this package and Subscribe this Mod.
The Project is updated to GoH version 1.029 with 2 DLCs; there may be problems if you do not have the 2 DLCs or if you are not updated to this version of GoH.
The package must be unzipped in a folder of your choice and the first time VisualJava (if not already present) will be installed.
No further installations are required.
Before starting the game you need to activate the mod in Goh.
To start the program click on noresus-project.exe.
Strategic Map
The Strategic Map represents all of Europe, part of the Middle East and part of North Africa. Although the project is already set up to be used on 3 fronts - Western, Eastern and African -, only the Eastern Front is currently active.
This Front consists of 309 Regions divided into 15 Nations and 3 Factions:
• Axis Forces faction;
• Red Army faction;
• Neutral faction.
It is possible to play only with the first 2 Factions.
In this initial release, only GoH Early Period units are used.
With the Axis Forces faction you will command 64 Battalions consisting only of German units and fight against the AI consisting of 172 Red Army Battalions and 73 Neutral Battalions (Finnish units).
With the Red Army faction you will command 172 Battalions consisting only of Russian units and fight against the AI consisting of 64 Axis Forces Battalions and 73 Neutral Battalions (Finnish units).
In practice, each Region has 1 Battalion (309 Regions for 309 Battalions) and cannot host more than 1 Battalion at a time. Initially, in addition to your own battalions, only AI Battalions located in Regions bordering yours will be visible. Whenever your Battalion conquers a Region of the AI, any Battalions present in neighboring Regions will be displayed. The same will happen in case of movement towards empty enemy Regions.
In this version 130 GoH Maps have been activated: those present in Multiplayer and those used in Conquest. They are not directly connected to the Regions of the Strategic Map and will be selected randomly; it will therefore be possible to find a different Map for the same Region. Each Map has 2 Bases and whoever has both within the time limit (20 minutes) wins the Battle. In a tie, the AI always wins.
Battalions Deployed
In this first version, the 309 Battalions were created by a “random external algorithm” according to the following table:
The Player's Battalions consist of 8 Units, while the AI's have 16 Units.
Every time a New Campaign is started, the program randomly displaces the 309 Battalions respecting the factions they belong to; so you will notice that the name of the Battalion (which comes from its Region of origin) is said not to correspond to the Region of deployment.
In this version it will not be possible to change the Units of a Battalion, nor its Class.
Campaign
To start a Campaign it is necessary to select a Faction among the 2 available. On the mini-map, click the German Flag to play as the Axis Forces faction or click the Soviet Flag for the Red Army faction.
As soon as you click it, the program initializes the Strategic Map by displacing the Battalions of your Faction and those of the AI. German Battalions are bordered in blue, Soviet Battalions are bordered in red, and Neutral Battalions are bordered in white. You will only be able to manage the battalions of your Faction.
To move the map, use the middle mouse button by holding it down and dragging the cursor. Or the same in the mini-map or left click. Moving the cursor over the Regions or Icons you can view the related information.
Economic System Icons are not yet implemented in this version.
To exit the program, click the X at the top right: all data will be saved automatically.
Movement
In this first version, the Movement has no time or consumption limits. It is possible to move only to Regions without Battalions, both own and enemy. Only the player can move his Battalions; the AI does not move spontaneously, except as a result of a player defeat.
Attack
In order to play a battle in GoH, it is first necessary to perform an Attack Operation on the Strategic Map.
Click on your own Battalion then on the AI Battalion you wish to attack. If the two Regions are bordering, the information will be completed automatically on the panel that appears at the bottom right. Click on Ok to confirm the Attack or cancel the operation.
ATTENTION: if the Attack Operation is confirmed, it can no longer be canceled or not performed. This confirmation will automatically start GoH which must be played. Otherwise the Victory will be assigned automatically to the AI.
Battle
As soon as the Attack Operation is confirmed with Ok, the program is blocked and minimized until the End of the Battle and GoH is started automatically.
Then proceed in GoH as below:
select MULTIPLAYER, SKIRMISH, LOCAL SKIRMISH;
In the list on the right, click STRATEGIC MAP;
at the top left click on SELECT MAP;
in the list on the right, scroll and click on “Battle in progress…”;
click CREATE;
click START.
Do not change any other parameters present!
If you quit before the time runs out, or restart the Battle or close GoH, the Victory will go to the AI!
At this point you can play your Battle…
After the Battle ends, within a few seconds, the program returns to the foreground even if GoH still remains open to give you the possibility to view the Combat Statistics.
The Strategic Map automatically updates based on the final result: if the Player wins, the AI Battalion is permanently eliminated for this Campaign; the Player's Battalion moves towards the conquered Region which takes on the color of its Faction. If the AI wins, the Player's Battalion is permanently eliminated for this Campaign; the AI Battalion moves toward the lost Region which takes on the color of the AI Faction.
If GoH has been left open, it will be automatically restarted by the program as soon as the next Attack Operation is confirmed.
End of the Campaign
In this version, made to try the program and have fun, the Campaign will end in Victory, with the destruction of all Battalions of the AI, in Defeat with the loss of all own Battalions.
