Freebooter is a sandbox game set in a fantasy pirate world. Players will be able to explore, pirate, trade and ingratiate themselves with the factions of the game. The game relies heavily on procedural generation to create varied and interesting content.
This time we look at cyclone physics and a prototype day/night cycle.

We're not actually using voxels - just regular models with a very blocky artstyle. You can destroy individual modules like sails and weapons on the ships and the sinking of ships is handled dynamically (so it's not a canned animation).

like if you get shot in the side of the ship it would be cool if you know like it would actually put a hole in the side of the ship and have everything fully destructible with individual canons being destroyed or the sail getting a hole in it so it is weakened not just totally destroyed. i don't know just some cool ideas to throw out there, keep up the good work :D
You can take out certain modules and otherwise weaken enemy ships, though we can't make the environment fully destructible unfortunately.
