in the year 2050 an alien escaped area 51 and managed to contact the alien race. In the year 2051 huge spaceships appeared above every major city, declaring war on earth. 90% of the population were killed, 8 years later only a few pockets of resistance remains. After a failed raid you are left to survive in a chaotic world.
