We’ve known that EVE: Valkyrie would be coming to PlayStation VR for some time, but it’s not until now that we’ve known in what form. Over on the PlayStation Blog, CCP’s brand director Ryan Geddes has announced that CCP is partnering with Sony to publish EVE: Valkyrie on PlayStation 4. This means that the game will be getting its first physical retail copy that will be available on store shelves.
In addition to the boxed copy of the game itself, you’ll also get some extra in-game goodies – whether you buy a physical or digital copy. These extras include the Founder’s Pack, which comes bundled with:
- Legendary ‘S4 Wraith’ Fighter
- PlayStation-only ‘Cobalt’ Flight Suit
- Official EVE: Valkyrie Founder’s Avatar
- Limited Edition ‘Founder’s Pilot’ Forum Tag on evevalkyrie.com
- War Chest of 2,500 Gold
- All updates to the game released since its launch on PC in March, including Carrier Assault mode.
Geddes also says that EVE: Valkyrie will see free content updates throughout the game’s lifetime, and those updated will be coming to all platforms. And, thanks to the PlayStation Camera’s head tracking, PlayStation VR users will be able to use the gaze-based missile locking system as described by CCP’s narrative designer Andrew Robinson.
EVE: Valkyrie will be available digitally and at retail on October 13, alongside the PlayStation VR hardware. A demo disc containing a trial for EVEL Valkyrie will also be included with every PlayStation VR headset.
