Dominate the 18th century on land and sea. Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment — a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought.
I love playing this game everyday. Its better than Command and Conquer Generals.
Awesome battles, speciality the navals, great game, one of my favorites of the saga. However, not at all is perfect, the first thing I am not agree is the lack of sound, damn those rifles sounds... well, weird, I prefer the sounds of rifles and cannons on medieval 2 total war, those are epic. And the second point I am totally disagree is, having more than 50 nations on the game, only use around 10-12? not fair, then we need to use mods. And the last point is a shame there are... well, lack of historical battles or campaigns, the game has the oportunity of make A LOT of historical situations, example simulate the independences of all the colonies of america (not counting USA), or the adventures on Africa, or even give us a posibility of a story mode like the american campaign (is more like a tutorial).
The creators of the game has the oportunity of give us a lot of posibilities with this game, but is very generic in many cases and leaved behind the things supported medieval 2 total war.
Very good total war game!
Im sorry but I cannot say no to this game, I have spent hundreds of hours on this and still cannot stop.
This gameis thrilling to say the least and it is challenging, the battles have to be played out with extreeme precision and strategic cuninng otherwise you and your armies are finnished. The game makes you choose between going to war or rebuliding your most important areas. slip up and most of the factions sorrounding your lands buttf**k you. It is an accurate representation of the type of person you are. You have to consider what your allies will do, what your enemies will do and your recources avalible if something dosen't go to plan.
P.S dont attack the mughal empire untill you have a huge army that has socet bayonets, fire by rank, etc. or you will be utterly obliterated.
The fact that the game scales so wonderfully, from large tabletop strategy views that make you feel like a 18th-century general to minute tactical battles where you can watch individual troops load their guns and fire, is a rare trait among strategy games. I'll play it again and again, slowly conquering the world a turn at a time.
The first installment of the series which featured the much expected naval battles.
world domination is awesome
