Earth Defenders is based on an old minigame I developed a few years ago, this new enhanced version will feature many new stuff, like weapons, enemies, bonuses, bosses, and even possibly a campaign mode.
The game mode is based on waves and bosses every Nth waves (like most Tower Defense games), but it also features elements from old-school arcade and FPS genres. Trough the game, you will unlock crystals, wich can be then used in different powerups and improovements, along with better bonuses and options, so you can get better scores each time you play.
The game is released on Andriod, and coming up next for Windows. and, if possible, for Mac too. The objective is to get the most players try the game for free and spread the indie games developers love to the world! :)

Thanks for reading :)
Just added gamepad/joystick support for the game! You should be able to download the update by now!
This will affect only the Windows builds, as Android gamepads are not yet supported by GameMaker Studio; If support is ever added in the future, rest assured I will add it to the game!
There are, however a few things to keep in mind; First of, Xbox 360 controllers are not 100% supported, there may be some unrecognized keys, and they may not work at all, Unfortunately I havent had the chance to playtest with any, so I cant be completely sure about this, I am speaking based on other people's experiences using GM:S and 360 gamepads. Besides those, most if not all regular PC gamepads should work perfectly, and the settings screen includes a little graphic showing the recommended layout of the keys when you are making the cnfiguration.
Menues can be a bit odd to navigate trough, but for what it is needed, its far enough. It is the best I could achieve based on my touch-based menu layout, keep in mind this game was never made with gamepad support in mind! besides the menu, the in-game controls feel excellent, and the experience is far more enjoyable than with a keyboard, so I highly recommend to play around with it if you have the chance!
This also means that, when OUYA is out, there will be more chances I port this game to it! as of now, unfortunately, I havent asked for a devkit when I had the chance, but if it goes well now, I might get a regular one ASAP ;)
On a different note, a Mac build will be be coming soon, around next week, I just have sort out some issues, Unfortunately due to the lack of an own Mac PC, I am not able to test it on different models, nor even playtest myself with one, meaning it will be very untested, but its something, I did not wanted to leave Mac users out of this!
Cheers to everyone, enjoy!
An arcade shooter game with Tower Defense elements, based on a 360º Earth representation and Space Invaders-esque.

Played it on Android but it isnt really good. The idea itself is ok and gameplay could be fun, but why the hell the bullets come back and damage my own planet? On Tablet it is rather very hard to controll and have a good accuracy so im damaging my own planet more than the invaders do. Could be a good game, but fails on some things, maybe PC Version is better, cant say without Demo. Android isnt good.
Curse PayPal and the banking holiday (in Kuwait at least) I want to play this game.... NOW xD
I love the concept, the way we're almost trapped like the original space invaders but instead of defending a base it is the whole planet.
It looks like a retro remake of Gyruss
Whoa, this and Darkside are two games I never heard of, I can see the graphical resemblence to Gryus there, but the gameplay may be different :)
This looks like an interesting take on Space Invaders. Reminds me a little of a game called Darkside that was released about six years ago (Darkside had much better graphics, but Earth Defenmders appears to be a deeper game).
I would like to see a demo released before I purchase.
If you have any Android device you can download it for free on Google Play Store:

before I buy... I do have an android phone. So is the android version in the special edition different in other aspects besides ad disabling, any other permissions it asks for on my phone?
It is the exact same version, instead it has to be installed from the SD card :)
Ps: And I think you can even update it from the market once I start pushing new versions into Google Play, havent tried but there's nothing stopping people from doing that, since its free..
Interesting concept, tracking.
nice game, gonna follow it
