Techland, the developer well known for the original Dying Light and its post-launch support, continues in their footsteps by empowering the creator community for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The game's developers hosted a livestream last night detailing their 'Good Night Good Luck' update, which was released earlier in the day.
The update's highlight - as far as we’re concerned - is the game's first iteration of in-game integration with mod.io. This addition is a game-changer, enabling the community to share and discover community maps without ever leaving the game. It marks another AAA title to bring user-generated content in-game, signalling an industry shift towards the official support of UGC.
Techland has given out over USD$100,000 across two contests in the last six months to talented community map creators, ensuring high-quality content was immediately available for PC players to explore when the update went live. If you are a level creator, there is still time to enter
In-game Community Map support for Dying Light 2 Stay Human players on console (PlayStation and Xbox) has been mentioned by Techland and is expected to release later this year.
Wonderful news!
This is one helluva surprise to us DL Players!
