Dwarves & Holes is a tactical squad based city builder and world simulation where you take control of a group of dwarves, hobbits, mages or demons and your goal is to explore and survive while building a successful settlement. The game features multiple game modes and is inspired by the 4X formula and games like Dwarf Fortress.
The game is currently making great strides to overcome the period of hiatus where the transition from a 2D isometric engine to a fully realized 3D engine took place.
Creation mode (a mode where all the games's mechanics are intact but there are no resources and you don't have to worry about the consequences of your actions) is slowly starting to resemble its desired shape. This is the first mode that will be released.
Weekly public snapshots are upload. MegaUpload was used in the past, but after its take down snapshots will be uploaded here.
On Dwarvesh.blogspot.com you can follow the progress of the development process. For over a year now the entire development has been documented in detail and some might find enjoyment in seeing the various faces of the game in different stages of development. The blog is regularly updated and some of the news from there will also be reported here, probably with less words.
