CBM Thread - Dominions 3: The Awakening

Could someone point me in the right direction to find a working version of CBM mod , please?

Because I'm a new member, I can't directly link a URL. But let's say you typed in z7, followed by .invasionfree and then perhaps a .com, with maybe /Dom3mods/index.php? a bit later, and followed the question mark with showtopic=998, you might just get a topic which had CBM 1.94 in it.

The download link there is working fine, by the way, I tried it just now (20:30 BST 30/07/2013) to check.

Might be missing something in that url. All that gave me was the invasionfree page for registering a domain.

I believe CBM 1.94 is the newest version, correct? Pretty sure this is it.

Still having the same issue. I extract the mod into mods folder, enter the game, enable the mod, go to choose pretender, select an era, game CTD's with message: bad#selectweapon.command

OK two questions:

- Which version of Dom 3 are you running? (because it should be 3.28 at this point, although 1.94 will work with 3.27)
- Are you trying to run any other mods at the same time?

Looks like it may be 3.00 . Thanks. I'll have to find the update patches for the game. I assumed since I just did the digital download, that I had the most up to date version. I guess that is what I get for assuming.

3.28 breaks the game for whatever reason. 3.27 works fine, added a mod and it isn't crashing at that point as before, so maybe that has it all worked out. Thanks. I almost gave up and just waited for Dom4 to come out.

The most recent patch for Dominions3 is v3.29, which you can download from the illwinter home page. (patch links are near the bottom of the page under "Updates")

Can you please elaborate on how v.3.28 breaks the game? IIRC it was patch 3.27 that broke a few mods due to a change in how modding commands for magic sites worked, but the vanilla un-modded game worked totally fine. But AFAIK nothing changed between patch 3.27 and 3.28 that would "break the game" in any way.

So if you are having a problem with patch 3.28, can you please provide more detail on the issue as maybe there is an unknown problem that needs to be addressed (and is still present in 3.29 that we are unaware of).

With 3.28, the game won't start at all. I click the icon to start Dom3, the screen goes black, then "please wait" appears, then CTD and message about unable to create config file or something like that. 3.27 the game starts up fine. I added CBM 1.94 and the mythology mod and neither crash the game, but I haven't played any rounds yet. LIfe called me away just about that time. lol

Try using "run as administrator" and see if that helps.

That worked. Odd, it made me enter my CD key again when I did it that way. Had to dig up the old email from when I bought the digital download.
