We would like to point out some very useful keys on the Quick Reference card that you might have overlooked (and one that was omitted):
The F4-F8 keys modify what clicking on the map does. Holding 'F7' while clicking on the map will cause all selected units to face that location. Holding 'F8' while clicking on the map will cause all selected units to focus more shield energy towards that direction (you can press + - keys to have units put shield energy forward or center). If you are in turn-based mode, with a single unit selected, holding 'F4' while clicking a map location will show the path the unit will take to that location and if they will run out of energy on the way. Holding 'F5' and clicking a location that has an enemy will instruct selected units to try to move to that location rather than just attack it. Holding 'F6' and selecting a location will instruct units to fire on that location even if it contains no detectable enemy or even a friendly unit. Feel free to experiment with these keys along with the others on the Quick Reference Guide.
We are paying close attention to the user feedback we are getting and will look into doing further updates in the future.
