Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used. The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

The Steam installation creates a file named "data\coe3key" in the game dir ~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/ConquestOfElysium3

The problem is that on Linux, paths use the slash ('/') character, not backslash ('\') like on Windows. Therefore, the game forces you to enter the key again, copying the file data\coe3key to the 'data' subdirectory and renaming it to "coe3key" actually solves the problem.

The other problem occurs on 64bit Linux where the game incorrectly attempts to run coe3_x86 even on 64bit platforms, and this binary often does not find the 32bit libraries it's linked to and fails to start (Steam actually does not produce any error). The correct binary coe3_amd64 runs without problems. So the install script should check what platform it's running on (by uname or similar tool), and create link to the correct binary in Steam.
