Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used. The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

I am unhappy when I see a review or someone posting about the game if they have not tried it in team mode. There is SO much to the game that way. Especially with switches on such as Common Cause and Cluster Start. At the moment I am watching a Baron and Dwarf Queen team. The Baron wants the towns and the Dwarf wants the mines. The Baron puts PD units in the towns, and the Dwarf turns mines into colonies. The Baron is doing the exploring and the Dwarf is staying central building up to fight off invasions. They are working really well together. Earlier I had a Witch and Senator kicking my tail. The Senator did a general well-planned expansion protecting the Witch until late game when the Witches major armies were ready. Also Voice of El and a Priest King surprised me. I thought they would conflict by wanting the same resources. But El converted everything and took their tithe. Priests gathered slaves from the big towns. Both of them did it to their allies towns! The El could convert Priests cities without taking them, and the Priest could gather slaves from El's cities without taking ownership. And later on it seemed that Priest had the biggest city/towns but it didnt hurt El much since El was getting really kick-ass units from even little farms that the Priest wasnt interested in. What combos are you guys seeing work well? Edited by: gp1628 |

I have not played for a while, but I like your storied about teams that work well together. Indeed I almost always played against teams, believing it made it much more challenging. |

What is this PD that people keep talking about in relationship with the Baron? I am sure it's something simple but I am not getting it... |
