Command & Conquer (a.k.a. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn or simply C&C/C&C1; the game is also often unofficially called Command & Conquer 64 for the Nintendo 64 port) is a 1995 real-time strategy video game produced by Westwood Studios for MS-DOS and released internationally by Virgin Interactive. It was the first of twelve games to date to be released under the title Command & Conquer; six subsequent titles having since continued the story set as sequels with one acting as a prequel, along with the production of several spin-off games. Met with universal acclaim by consumers and critics, Command & Conquer was released for seven separate platforms along with becoming the initiator of the Command & Conquer franchise, and today generally is considered as the title which originally defined and popularized the modern real-time strategy genre.

I am most certainly impressed by Tiberian Dawn , it was a milestone RTS that i myself couldn't stop playing at least for a couple of weeks (probably even more had not real-life matters imposing strict measures), the prequel (genesis installment if RA2 is to be counted)Red Alert improved further the mechanics Tiberian Dawn had already established , Tiberian Dawn lives on with the 1.06c patch which also implements CNCnet where players around the world fight in competitive skirmishes or other game modes.

The Campaigns are both difficult (leaning towards unforgiving depending on how you play)with some of the missions relying on chance for accomplishment.

Skirmish is noticeably absent because the AI is heavily scripted and did not contain logic to build bases out of freewill(they have to be written or coded into missions),the 1.06c patch partially remedies this with AI players option in the menu however the base-building logic is still absent due to aftermentioned AI.
