The way I see it, weapon balance is 3 things. Fair, usable, and fun. Follow these three rules and I'll take your topic of discussion quite seriously!

Fair - The weapon should be fightable, have counters and should not be the first thing everyone should reach for in a serious game. Too much damage, fires too fast, and too much of other things can lead to an unbalanced weapon.

Usable - A weapon can be fun to use, it could be fair to use, however it's utility can still make it useless in every situation. For example, why use the knife when you can have tomahawks? The knife can actually instant kill most guys with a stab from behind. The knife can be used like a tomahawk, but you can still pick something else for your grenade slot. Thats why the knife is there!

Fun - I could throw in an instant kill automatic rifle and I can guarantee most people would get bored of it in a few minutes. A weapon should have utilities designed to not only be viable and fair in combat, but also should be satifying and fun to use! The pump action shotgun is good for laying out guys up close, but imagine if I replaced the shotgun sound if the sound of a cat screaming. Ewwwchgh! The CHK-CHK after every shot would be missed by many.

Anyways, follow the rules of FUF and you will be on your way to be certified to scream OP at the weapons you are slain by. Feel free to discuss things further here. I won't hurt you if you disagree. much.

Lightning Gun ("Thor's Revolver") - A gun that calls down lightning where the "gun" is aimed. 5 shots/uses, 6 second cooldown.

Shrapper - A gun that fires like a weak shotgun (multiple projectiles) that explode into shrapnel on impact. Not too strong, not too fast. 4 shot clip, start with 12 shots. 3 well-placed shots should kill a player.

Swiss-Shot - A pistol that has 1 shot. It shoots two balls chained together, dealing damage and going through any enemies it hits. Takes out 60% of a players health, maybe you could make it so that it loses damage as it goes through players.

Hot Glue Gun - Literally a hot glue gun. Hold the fire button down to shoot a steady stream of molten glue. Medium range. Deals minor damage when hit with hot glue. A player that is hit with hot glue slows down to a complete stop before the player can break it. A decent amount of ammo is picked up with the gun, but the clip size is minimal, enough for 1-2 seconds of constant fire.
