Bloodstained Hands is a 20 hour (approx.) RPG following the story of Rain, a young man who enters a guild of Assassins after a cataclysmic event that destroys his livelihood. Dedicated to rescuing his family and bringing down the twisted and power-hungry Emperor that took them away, Rain fights to become the greatest Assassin of all time.

What's up with the encounter rate? Couldn't play it JUST because of that. Literally every 3-4 steps I have to fight.
The encounter rate is different for various locations, for example, the deepest levels of the forest may have a high encounter rate, whereas the encounter rate on the world map is comparatively low. That said, the encounter rates were tailored to provide an adequate number of foes to face between different sections of the game. If, for example, you had only faced enough foes to reach level 7 before reaching the mountainous region of the empire, you would have a much more difficult time. It is also possible that encounter rates may seem unbearably high if you've experienced a string of bad luck. My only suggestion would be to train some more in the surrounding areas to gain experience and a few levels, and stock up on Medicines and Remedies before entering any major dungeons.
