In 2003, Argonaut Games - creators of the first retail Bionicle game - pitched a sequel to Lego which would be centred on the Toa Metru as they fought throughout the 2004 storyline to secure the Great Disks and defeat the evil Makuta. Pitched as a movement-oriented game with an open-world hub and fast-paced combat, the game ultimately didn't receive serious funding and as a result was never made.

However, over the years, several builds of the game have been located by dedicated Bionicle fans and archived on Biomedia Project to preserve this piece of Bionicle gaming history. These builds have even been enhanced by modders to create new ways to explore a small snippet of what could have been.
