It's been around six weeks since the end of our Kickstarter campaign and we would like to show you some new features of Between the Stars.
- Locations: Stations and planets no longer function as a unitarian point where you receive events, but as a group or cluster where you will find different locations and events according to the point in the story you currently stand in.
- Landing on planets: One of the hot points for procuring events and contracts are the different space stations that we’ll find along the universe. As events go on, we’ll notice the narrative limitations of crafting events and adventures in the same medium always. What better way to live a new adventure than on an uncharted planet?
In order for it to work, we’ve implemented a planet system will let you land on them and access their stores, events contracts…
- Dice system: In the Kickstarter demo the decisions you made had an indication of success and failure that was automatically calculated based on crew and character statistics. We’ve augmented the system to implement dice rolls, making them visible when determining said results. A character trained in charisma will have a much easier time getting a good oratory skill, barter or intimidation roll than one specialized in leadership or physical aptitude.
- Crew Combat: Using the dice system that we added a few weeks ago we have created a battle system for the crew. Each round you roll two dice, one determines your attack and the other one the enemies attack. Depending on how many people you have and the level of your crew you have more or less firepower, also you can use special items like grenades or machine guns. This new system gives more importance to crew!
