To create a .ogg in bf2 it must be specially encoded for the game so how to make that ?
=================================================
=================================================
Remember : Ogg is used to use less memory usage and less space on hard drive, but you can't add region marker (only wav) so you can't use that for engine sounds or weapons shots sounds
The 2nd difference between .wav and .ogg is that .ogg is compressed (logical given its size) and therefore it is much "slower" than .wav, so it is recommended to use .wav files on impact sounds, flybly, in short this kind of thing that requires a very low "reaction time", using .ogg for that can cause sound bugs

First step, use audacity to convert you .wav to .wav again
to be sure it can be encoded by bf2 sound tool, save as :
Extract the files whenever you want and open the folder , look like this :
After just grab the .wav file on oggenc.exe
This should open a window like this :
Wait it to encode, the window will shut down automatically..
It's done, a new file has appeared, it should be in the same place as your .wav file If it's on your desktop, the .ogg will be too
Don't forget to listen to your sound before put it into the game, play to see if the quality is good and not deteriorated when encoding
WARNING !! Listen the sound with VLC and with an other software like audacity or Windows Media Player (with ogg codecs), sometimes VLC have somes troubles with short sounds, looks bad, but with an other software it's look good.
And it's over, you know everything! Feel free to leave a comment if you like my tutorials, and I will make new tutorials after :)
I have a question about the .wav file, i ported a new .wav fire_1p sound for a weapon,when i fire in semi-automatic the sound work fine,but the problem start when i fire in automatic,the sound only sounds oce instead to sound for each shot...you can help me?
You need to add a region marker into your .wav file, you can use the bf2 sound tool for that, open the file with it and enter the rpm number for add the marker for the loop
Thank you
Your welcome
10/10 thanks!
Glad to help ;)
