Hiya guys!
Exciting news! The parkour system has been developed for over a year, back when I just started learning coding, and has since gone through many iteration. It's now reached a stage which is not exactly ideal yet (lots of bugs and features) but it is playable.
But first, let me show you the completed Medium Soldier.

And this is the medium soldier, imported into Unity. Still a little rough, but will aim to make him look better in the next few iterations.

Here's some in game image of what you can do. As you can see currently we are doing it as a full body awareness test, with the intention for future updates to make it work with Oculus Rift and other VR.
Instruction
- Download and extract both the AscendParkourTest_Data folder, andAscendParkourTest.exe.
- Double click AscendParkourTest.exe to run the game
Keybind
- WASD - Movement
- Space - Jump
- Left Shift - Hold to Run/ Tap to Dash
- C - Crouch
- V - Restart Level

Have you tried the webplayer? The zip files doesn't work as well?
Mind sharing with me your comp specs as well?
Specs are as follows:
Processor:Intel Core i5-3337U
RAM:6 gb
64 bit
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Only thing that might be an issue is the way I set up the graphics in Unity, probably causing an issue with the graphics card. I'll look into this. Cheers!
sexy model. looking forward on a better parkour like mirrors edge.
It's hard to rig hands, but you need to work on the weights on the fingers some more. They don't look right and if you want something right in a game like this, it is the arms and hands.
But the character looks awesome! Smart move with the cool helmet,saves you the face modeling and looks cooler. Nice textures too!
Good catch on the fingers, was hoping no one noticed it. Currently the model is shared between first person and third person. I will probably have to create a higher res, floating arm model to get more fidelity. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice character model.
Pretty fun doing wallrun to wallrun. Like the hole where you sprint+jump then slide through, wish I could do that midair for punching through windows and kicking someone in the face.
Don't like the camera rolling 45 sideways when wallrunning, 15 degrees at most please.
Also you need some collision detection to cancel climbing cause you can get into meshes.

Great idea with the punching through windows in midair, will look into implementing it further in the line.
The camera for some reason is overacting in certain builds. I will look into it and make it more subtle. And will look into the collision detection, it's a known bug that I am actively looking in to. Cheers!
I actually liked the camera rolling side ways when on wall run. Is the character crawling on it with both legs and arms?
No actually he is supposed to be just running with his legs, tilting away from the wall
Played the demo; its good, some polishing needed. A good idea is the ability to wall run more than once.
Definitely more polish needed, though we are aiming to get everything in first, and iterate and improve from there.
If you meant wallrunning on the same surface, multiple times, I have considered that, but decided to limit it for balancing.
You could still wallrun and jump between two walls infinitely :D

well the wall running is fun, but that complete horizontal rotation ***** me up. needs to be changed for sure :/
Indeed, it is very disorienting. I must have forgot to tweak it back. Will lessen the effect in future build.

were you by any cahnce inspired by titanfall when making this? the mechanics are exactly the same, even down to where you aim while running on the wall and you stop and hold on..
Yup, took a lot of the mechanics from Titanfall, since it works well for the game. Initially it was inspired by Mirror Edge, and the parkour system was more closer to Mirror Edge. Still, I wish to improve upon this system more.
Well it's very well done and from what I have played so far even though it's been very little I have to say, it is looking like it's gonna be a very good game

Amazing game! I Love how i can do parkour on the PC! I'll be honest, once weapons and vehicles are added, it'll be like Titanfall on the PC! Even though I love it, there's one problem, i'm a left handed gamer, so key-binding would be really nice. The game config doesn't seem to change the controls in game.

I would like the dash had more time, because with that, you evade a 1 cm ...
The last thing I would like, would they fix the camera first person, only to see their feet because they see the whole body, with what you have done so far, walking forward and the body is least for me, annoying ...

Could you kindly elaborate on the dash? As in dash further or dash longer?
Will look into looking just at the feet. The whole body was a quick test and it seems to not work that well.

Hi, I'm just here to post a bug on the game.
When I am on a ledge and I stay there sometimes the leg replaces the arm and goes back to normal when I go up the ledge.

I noticed that when I crouch, the shadow remains the same. Also, how do I wallrun? I honestly have no clue how.
It's basically a lacked of animation. Our animator is working hard on making the crouch animation, so once that's in, it should solve that issue.
To wallrun, you need to be holding shift, run towards the wall and just jump towards the wall.
