Armchair Bomber 2 is a fast paced, action packed three-dimensional take on the classic game of Bomberman' However, an extra dimension is not the only thing added; powerups, new game types and much more have been thrown into the mix to create an exciting and fresh new game'

Developed as a mod for Half-Life, while full of bugs and prone to random crashing, the original Armchair Bomber proved to be fun and exciting, obviously with a lot of potential' With the announcement of Half-Life 2, the team of the original game became very excited at the possibility of taking advantage of these new features in a new installment of their mod' However, with further investigation it was realised that they could make the game use the open source engine, Irrlicht, and market it as a stand-alone game'

The team slowly grew to encompass friends from the Half-Life community who were interested and willing to embark on the new horizons of being involved in a stand-alone game'

Using a modified Irrlicht engine, Armchair Bomber 2 is able to use effects and ideas that could only be dreamed of in the original' Vastly improved physics using the ODE physics engine, and a carefully crafted particle system are just two examples of how things have moved to improve gameplay'

AI controlled bots will allow you to play alone against enemies, each with their own personalities and tactics for you to discover and outmaneuver' Or you can choose to compete with your friends, either at one computer using multiple input devices, or online'

Powerups add to the fun and intensity of gameplay, with a vast array of powerups to collect and unlock, such as speed, invisibility, shields, time bombs and many more for you to discover along your way' Pick them up, deploy them, and use them to aid you in outwitting your opponents in the arena'

A vast array of game-modes allow you to experience Bomberman in a fresh and new way, with games such as capture the flag, domination, collection and many more' Each game-mode is highly customisable both from the map and the server, allowing you to create new twisted games that the creators could never conceive' For instance, imagine a collection mode where you must pick up peoples heads and return them to spikes!
