Ardent Seas blends modern naval combat with classical RTS gameplay, featuring Aliens, space lasers, and unholy amounts of missiles
A little big preview of the Coalition Navy's Capital Ships.
Left to right: Samurai-class Battle Carrier, Command Carrier, and Production Cruiser.
We've already shown the Battle Carrier once, but the other two are new, and together act as Flagships for the Coalition Navy. CN players start with a Command Carrier and a Production Cruiser, the former is the actual Flagship.
The Coalition's Flagship can't produce ships, however, that role is taken over by the Production Cruiser, which can also be built later in the game, from a Large shipyard. The Flagship can produce aircraft and amphibious assault vehicles, however.
From an armament perspective, both are capable of defending themselves against minor threats. The Command Carrier has 6 CIWS stations, 4 dual 8" Gun Turrets, and also gets a number of twin 55mm self defense guns.
The Production Cruiser has 4 twin 155mm gun turrets, 4 CIWS stations, and also gets a number of twin 55mm PDCs.
