Description
In this video we're simulating the total solar eclipse as we see it on April 8 of 2024.
It just so happens that our fully ray-traced renderer can handle that kind of thing. There is no eclipse-specific code.
In this game, the moon is a lot closer due to the fact that it happens 3 billion years ago, so we moved it back to its actual (2024) distance just for this demonstration.
Otherwise with this game out of the box, the moon is so close that its shadow covers the entirety of the earth at once.
