Firstly for the last 5 days this effin’ internet connection has been intermittent, which is so freakin’ annoying. Forget about video calling, or you’ll lose your mind in frustration, so whenever I get a connection I quickly reload all the important pages.
But this is just annoying and archaic; 2014, I expected better internet from you… Mentally and emotionally exhausting weeks, for the team, a lot had to be achieved in a little time. The big day was the 15th, we got to play the first version of the game that includes more characters and all ammos. This version, alpha build 2.1 looks and has started feeling more like the final game. This version is actually fun to play!
We will use this version of the game to make some videos and show you what the gameplay looks like. Gameplay video will be up this week.The devs worked around the clock to implement the weapons and ammos for all the characters, as well as some new level backgrounds, there are now 20 levels in the game. There is still much to be added, but progress is speeding up. Devs have started implementing the construction aspect of the game as well as upgrading and special ammos. This and more will be implemented by the end of the month
The artists have also been cramming the hours in, some racing to complete all the assets for the level backgrounds, which is done as of Wednesday; all 250 levels are complete. Others were building state maps, we are about halfway there. Some revisions on the GUI also had to be made and also very important was the animations for some of the special ammo, which are almost ready. Animation on the specials has also started, we had to cut about half the specials out, some were not good enough and some would have been impossible to work. On the social media front we passed 1k on facebook and we are nearing 4k on twitter, which is pretty cool, maybe if you are reading this and you don’t follow us yet…
And hopefully all these people still have their notifications turned on and they will come flocking when we release the first gameplay videos this week…maybe. On the financial front things are so-so, we did get a fair chunk of cash last week, but we also paid out a large sums, and well that’s just not the greatest of feelings. Watching money zoom in and out of your account without so much as a pause is pretty frustrating. But it’s all about the game now, we are closer to the end than the beginning and that is pretty awesome and scary for obvious reasons. So we need more money now and while we have a few ideas and leads on the investor front, we think it would be wise to attempt Kickstarter. The game is getting to a good place and we might actually pull off crowdfunding, and well that would be legendary. So yeah that’s the situation so far…more soon!
